Security tightened for Hazrat Ali's martyrdom anniversary | Pakistan ...

LAHORE?-?DIG Operations on Saturday said that at least 3,000 security personnel would be deployed for monitoring procession to be taken out by Shia community on 21st of Ramadan on the occasion of Hazrat Ali?s (RA) martyrdom anniversary. Talking to media persons, he asked the ulema to cooperate to avoid any untoward incident.

He said that Shia Ulema and police officials in Lahore have finalized a security plan for a central procession to be taken out on Hazrat Ali?s (RA) martyrdom anniversary and around 3,000 security personnel would be deployed for their protection. He said that at least 700 male and 300 female escorts would take part in security in enforcing these security measures. He said that people would be allowed to enter the procession after a search adding that Shia ulema had assured the police of full support during the procession.

On this occasion, the IGP directed DIG (Operations) Lahore Rai Muhammad Tahir and AIG (Admin) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera to leave no stone unturned and utilize all available resources to ensure foolproof security.
