Buying a used cell phone

Just like appliances, TV?s and vacuum cleaners they don?t make cell phones like they used to. It used to be that you could pass down your old appliances to your kids when they moved out because they were still working, same with a TV or vacuum cleaner, but now you can go through multiple appliances, TV?s, and vacuum cleaners before your kids get out of elementary school. Well cell phone?s are even worse if you use them often they barely make it the two years before the next upgrade. Sometimes buying an older appliance is a better deal because it will last longer than a new one well a used cell phones can definitely be put in the same category.
Buying used or refurbished cell phones is a great way to save money or even try out what kind of cell phone will work out best for you. There are so many different smart phones to choose from now and they have so many different ?apps? how do you know which one is the one for you? Going to a store and waiting forever to get customer service and then getting talked into upgrading to the top phone and buying all of the accessories is another fun thing about buying a new phone from you carrier. You can order online and read what each hone does instead of listening to someone read t you what the phone does and get it shipped to you for FREE. Warranty is the next thing that you want to have and you can actually get 30 days on a used cell phone instead of 7 on a new one like most cell phone carriers offer on a return if you just don?t like it.
Other things to consider are when you go into the store and buy that new phone you are now locked into your contract even longer, usually two years. By buying another phone they get you to stay there customer you start all over again and the cycle just keeps repeating itself because the phones do not last long enough. If you buy a used phone you do not have to start that contract over again and maybe someday you could actually switch carriers if you want, at least you would have a choice. Let?s not forget the environment, when you reuse a phone you are helping to keep your planet green. Phones get thrown away all the time or are just sitting as clutter because no one knows what to do with them so why not reuse them.
There are a lot of different carriers and tons of different phones so where do you start. Well if for instance you have verizon you can be directed to used verizon phones and look through the options for verizon. Most of us have a used a cell phone long enough to know what we don?t want, or at least what features we have to have in a phone. Another thing that can lower the costs of the phone even more is that you can get money for your old phone. Especially in these times of a struggling economy we are all trying to cut costs in any way we can and buying used is a great way to achieve that goal.
