Week of holiday crafts! | iheartcleveland.com

As most of my readers know by now, not only am I a blogger, but I am also a?passionate designer, pug lover, Cleveland cheerleader as well as a craft and?holiday enthusiast.

A few months ago I was approached by Moen, a global faucet and accessories?company based here in Northeast Ohio, to help out with a project that they felt might be a fun partnership.

Moen was looking to create a series of holiday decor ideas and home crafts to?include in their stylish and informative e-newsletter. They were looking for fun and easy projects to make during the busy upcoming holiday season, and of course I was up for the challenge.

Over the next few days you will find a series of five home decor and crafting ideas that might inspire you to head to your local craft supplies store and dive into the holiday Cleveland style!

First up: A modern decor twist on the tomato cage.

Not sure what to do with your tomato cage during the chilly Cleveland months? Why not bring it indoors to shine as a display for your favorite holiday ornaments? It?s easy with a few simple steps.

Step 1 : Make sure your cage is free from dirt and any lingering dried tomato seeds.

Step 2 : Give your cage a good coat of spray paint in the color of your choice, preferably something to complement the interior in which it is to be displayed. In this case I am still in a summer neon phase, so flashy pink is what I chose.

Step 3 : While you are waiting for your cage base to dry, pull together your collection of garlands, ornaments and blingy bling.

Step 4 : Once the cage is dry, wrap each ring with wire ?pine? and jingle bell garland to give the cage a tree-like look.

Step 5 : Hang individual ornaments on various levels, alternating larger and smaller and voil?, a holiday display is born.

This post is brought to you by Moen. Buy it for looks. Buy it for life.
